I had to share this exciting moment with y'all…. I arrived in Minneapolis for the Lean Healthcare Transformation Summit and had waiting for me, as promised, 10 “print on demand” copies of Healthcare Kaizen waiting for me! It's very exciting to see what's basically “a real book” at this point!!
The traditionally printed versions are on the way soon. The release date is showing as June 27, but a birdie tells me they might be available sooner.
I had somebody email yesterday to ask about buying a signed copy direct from me… so I need to develop a process.
I'll work on getting bookplates that are signed by my co-author Joe and myself. It's not the slickest e-commerce process, but if you'd like to buy a copy direct from me, We'll call it $60 including priority mail shipping in the U.S. (retail price is $59.95 — it's a full-color 380 page book). If it's international shipping, I'll quote something special for your case. These will be from the “traditionally printed” stock, not the on-demand books.
Contact me here and select “buy a signed copy.” Let me know if you'd like to pay via PayPal (I'll send an invoice) or if you want to use a credit card without PayPal, I can invoice you via QuickBooks, which allows you to pay online with a card. If you'd like to mail a check, say so in the email and I will send my address.
If you are buying the book through another channel and want a bookplate sent, I'll do so at no charge. Select “Signed Book Label” from the contact page drop down menu.

That should also be available on or about June 27.
It will be the Kindle “textbook” format that represents the actual printed page. That’s best, I’m told, for such a graphics-heavy book like this. Will work on Kindle Fire, the Kindle app for iPad, Mac, and PC. Won’t work on the older style e-Ink readers.
