First off, Productivity Press has now shipped all back ordered books that were purchased through their site. Thanks for your patience…. it still shows as “backordered” on their website, but new orders should be shipped promptly. Thanks again to everyone who has ordered and read the book so far.
Now for Amazon…. Amazon.com is a funny animal, at times. I know they have shipped at least a few copies of my book — to readers in Oregon and New Mexico. One person (oh yeah, North Carolina) said they ordered a copy last week and got it in three days.
I ordered one on July 21, just to test the system, and I still haven't gotten mine yet.
The “expected ship date” for me shows “normally ships in 1 to 4 weeks” if you look at my book's page on amazon. Does it show this way for everyone? Does it depend on what distribution center you're being served by?? There have been times where the date shows as “normally ships in 5 to 7 days” then it goes back to “1 to 4 weeks.”
Weird. It really makes me wonder what is going on behind the scenes in the Amazon distribution network…

Check out my latest book, The Mistakes That Make Us: Cultivating a Culture of Learning and Innovation:
Amazon uk has it as 2-3 weeks leadtime.
I received mine in 2 days from Amazon. Go figure.
I placed my order with Amazon on May 20, still have not received anything. My order’s shipping estimate has changed multiple times over the weeks. As of this writing, shipping estimate is Aug. 27 – Sept. 15. I, too, wonder what the heck is up with Amazon – typically they provide excellent service.
Interesting trivia:
My book current ranks #14,996 on amazon.com.
The recent book by Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, ranks lower at #16,241.
I’ve had the multiple change in ship date also, usually resulting in canceling. Seems Amazon loses any order it can’t ship immediately. I’ve had this happen 2-3 times on different orders. Probably 5% of my orders. If you still waiting, I’d cancel and reorder.
I ordered in May also. Just received notification that the book has shipped. Next time I will definitely cancel and reorder.
I canceled my earlier orders and re-ordered Friday… shipping notice came today.
Eureka! My order arrived today (Sept. 3). I posted my comment above on Aug. 27…order placed on May 20. Delivery was to WA state, in case it is a regional shipping issue. Can hardly wait to dive into your book, Mark!
